Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage areas orderly and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck comes in several types: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.

The simplest type is the stand-up. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are one pallet in depth.

Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is frequently used. This version has telescopic forks intended to place the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.

The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This version is best in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.

Often more than one kind of reach truck is required in warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and could maximize available storage space while increasing production.
