Propane cylinders take up little space and they can be kept either inside of a storage area or outside of a facility. It does take some time to switch out a propane cylinder, though, it still does require knowledge of safety standards like for example the OSHA or Occupational Health and Safety Administration and also needs operator training in order to be conducted safely.
Compared to the electric truck, IC lift trucks are easier and faster to refuel. Nevertheless, the IC engine does produce polluting emissions and are very noisy.
NARROW-AISLE FORKLIFTS
The Class 2 lift trucks consists of many varieties of lift truck that are specially made to be used in narrow aisles. The typical storage aisles are 12 feet wide, and this easily allows a counterbalanced lift truck to turn in the aisle and put a load away. Usually, the very narrow aisles are approximately 5.5 to 6 feet wide, whereas narrow aisles are 8 feet wide. These narrow aisles require specialized forklifts which are capable of putting away loads which are small enough to turn on a tight radius or without any turning at all.
The three most common narrow aisle lift trucks are the turret trucks, order pickers and reach trucks. The differences between these forklifts are discussed below.
Narrow-Aisle Reach Forklifts
The original narrow-aisle lift truck is considered to be the traditional reach truck. These machinery do not require a huge counterweight and are thus, small enough to turn in narrow aisles. Instead, stability is provided by the outrigger arms which extend in front of the trucks. Then again, depending on the storage configuration, these outrigger arms can prevent the lift trucks from getting close enough to the storage rack to deposit and retrieve loads. To be able to overcome this specific situation, a pantograph was designed. The pantograph is a reach truck that is made with a telescoping device. This enables forks to easily and concisely reach into storage locations.
The ideal environment for a narrow-aisle forklift is a place that has good lighting, is clean, and has good traffic flow, well-maintained floors, as well as an ample turning aisle.
These machinery have changed the material handling business. Toyota stands behind their devotion to providing exceptional quality and extremely strong machinery. As the company evolves, they always strive to implement solutions in order to give their diverse customer base with the best products available.
