Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an important device in industry and commercial businesses since 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has evolved through different kinds, from a basic tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech machinery. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with various types designed to meet specific applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Solid polyurethane or rubber are the kinds of materials used to make cushion tires. They are suitable for indoor work on surfaces which are smooth. The tread of a cushion tire is pressed or binded onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated for various load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are usually used in warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the application, they are available with different tread depths, weight and sidewall protection. Pneumatic forklift tires which are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally utilized outdoors on surfaces which are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires provide along with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are an option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, which can either be solid, pneumatic or foam, are utilized on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are best for loading and transporting bulk objects onto trucks or into processing equipment. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts usually used at auto recyclers, lumberyards and construction sites.
