Audible Devices - Motion or back-Up Alarms:
Motion alarms and backup alarms are audio device accessories which generate enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises produced from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device must be distinguishable from other audible devices or noises from the work environment. The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices in the work place. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; hence, care must be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult due to the use of hearing protection. Audible devices can sometimes get deactivated from both operators and employees because they can find them very irritating. What's more, audible devices could also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To be able protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are utilized to help prevent injuries and lessen other problems. Furthermore, these cabs feature an emergency exit through window removal. Noise levels are reduced at the operator's ear because of additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: For each specific use, the operator could choose the performance requirement. Furthermore, it enables a supervisor to set the unit's maximum performance for an operator who is just learning. Being able to adjust and reduce the unit's utmost performance enables a new operator to learn the machine's operating characteristics in a controlled setting.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is disabled, a supervisor is required to enable and override the model. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the machine in a more controlled manner.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These specific mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
