Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment that allow work to be completed effectively, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that allows the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are available in multiple languages. On the Z-80/60 model, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for improved performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds better traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 only provides four-wheel steering. Optional features on this model comprise coordinated, crab, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features truly make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to use on irregular terrain.
Though these models are larger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable reach and range of motion. The design of the Z-boom gives the models outstanding over and up positioning capability which varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively engineered mechanism used for extending and retracting axles out and in of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model machine is just 2.46 meters if the axle is stowed. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
