In order to be a successful model, a lift truck needs to be powerful enough to last in all working environments for numerous hours of use. It needs to be able to transport cargo effectively and quickly as well. The machine needs to be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator too.
The Yale powertrain is reliable and rugged. It has to be strong enough to constantly deliver amazing durability through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with really tough shafts and robust gears. The transmission, engine, drive and steer axle are all isolated to reduce vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These equipment provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimum repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Within the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers excellent torque. Amazing fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The regular Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts which maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which automatically adjusts in order to decrease maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to extend the life of the tires, to eliminate shock loading and increase durability. Also, the auto deceleration feature lessens brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Engineered for extra strength, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
In order to protect the steer cylinder for damage and debris, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods that could add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle lessens wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made numerous ergonomic features and safety features part of their standard packages. These types of machinery would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
